ABOUT ME

ABOUT BETTE

Hi, I'm Bette!

I’m a professional genealogist, historian, and living history interpreter dedicated to helping clients discover, understand, and preserve their family stories.

My work is rooted in strong academic and professional training. I hold degrees in Criminal Justice, Psychology, and Elementary Education, and have completed advanced genealogical studies through nationally recognized institutes. This multidisciplinary background allows me to approach research with analytical precision, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of people and historical context.

Specializes in Lineage Research

I specialize in lineage research, with particular expertise in German ancestry and complex family connections. As an active member and former registrar for the Daughters of the American Revolution, I have extensive experience helping clients document and prove lineage for heritage societies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to strict documentation standards.

Beyond traditional research, I bring history to life. My husband and I have been involved in historical reenactment since 1992 and currently coordinate a Revolutionary War–era frontier village in Utah. This hands-on experience gives me a unique perspective on the daily lives, challenges, and stories of the people I research. Insight that enriches the work I do for clients.

Clarity, Integrity & Service

At the heart of my work is a commitment to clarity, integrity, and service. I understand that every family history is personal, and I strive to make the research process accessible, collaborative, and meaningful.

Outside of genealogy, I am passionate about animal rescue and co-own a reptile outreach program, where we provide educational, hands-on experiences for the community.
